We had an amazing experience here in Batu Kapal with Aji, Bayu and their crew! Surrounded by the lush green jungle, absolutely full of life and the awesome Landak River for a swim! We had the astonishing luck of seeing a wild female orangutan and her baby on the ficus tree just up our room 2 days in a row! And then they arranged us with a 3 days/2 nights trek in Gunung Leser National Park jungle and it was amazing. We saw 3 semi wild females with their babies and a wild male, super close to us (5m away)! Our guide explained everything to us about wildlife but also about plants and culture. The food was super nice and the bound fire and rafting on the final day were awesome! Truly recommend, and we will be back for sure, as we felt like family here, in the Batu Kapal tribe. Life-long lasting memories guarantees!

My first 2 nights in Sumatra were here! Beautiful scenery, guesthouse, owner Bayu, Arji and staff. The best start to my trip. Very quiet and rejuvenating place next to the rainforest and on the river. The best place and people to start your 3-6 day trek jungle trek. Female solo traveller and felt so safe here. 15 min motorbike ride to get here, no roads. Very clean and comfortable room & bathroom. Great food, coffee, ginger & spice Tea especially. Everthing I dreamt of..

My partner and I loved Batu Kapal guest house, people that own the place are so lovely. They drove us around to the village and back so the distance is no problem. They did a lot of extra things for us what we appreciate a lot 🙏 bird watching, cooking local meals, magic colour chancing tea ☕️. We booked a 6 days jungle track with them too! That was super awesome. They bring you really deep in the jungle where we saw a lot of wild animals! Not the semi wild animals like most tours offer you!

We loved just everything about our stay in Bukit Lawang! The staff organizied an airport pick up which went very well! The car took us to Bukit Lawang. The Guest House is located in the Jungle of Bukit Lawang. So the staff took us to the house by motorbike which was very fun and adventurous! We had a big room with a private huge balcony. From there you can sit and look at the jungle and the river. Sometimes you spot monkeys in the trees. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They help to arrange everything you need. So we went on a 3 day jungle trekking with two of their staffs: Teddy and Ian. We have had amazing three days in the jungle with them! They did their best to make the jungle trip unforgetable for us. We saw lots of Monkeys (gibbons, makaks), orang utans and lizards. They provided great food so we Never felt hungry. At the end of the trekking we did a rafting which was fun. We enjoyed the stay at the Guest House and the trekking and would go again!
